There is no proven link between testosterone therapy and increased risk of prostate cancer or benign prostatic hypertrophy. While medical thinking for decades assumed a connection, more recent research has overturned that assumption - and the emerging evidence actually suggests testosterone therapy may be beneficial for prostate health. Men with naturally higher testosterone levels are not at greater risk of prostate cancer, and supplementing testosterone does not appear to raise that risk either. Notably, prostate cancer tends to become more common precisely when testosterone levels are falling with age, which further challenges the old narrative. The current data points toward testosterone being protective of the prostate, not harmful to it.
